I Believe
I believe I can do better in High School as I did in elementary school, middle school, and as I will do in college.
I believe that hats are way better than any type of head wear.
I believe that people are allowed to say and do whatever they want.
I believe that raves are the best place to be when your sad, happy, or even mad.
I believe that football and soccer are the funnest sports in the world.
I believe that school should start late and end early.
I believe that I deserve to be at home instead of going to summer school.

Failure

In the passage from The Medusa and The Snail by biologist Lewis Thomas, he explains how mistakes or errors can bring something good out of them. “What is needed for progress to be made, is the move based on the error.” What he is saying is that by making a mistake or error, positive progress can come with it. As he said “we learn by trial and error.” We attempt something and it comes out wrong or we make an error, only then can progress follow. But there is always the exact opposite.

In the year of 1929 Alexander Fleming found something which could destroy bacteria. Alexander had been studying bacteria and tried to find an antibiotic to destroy it. But year after year he did not succeed in doing so. Alexander was a messy and dirty scientist and never cleaned his patri dishes. Then one day he realized a type of mold was growing on one of his unclean patri dishes, he noticed that the mold was eating off bacteria. He finally wound a cure for staphylococci and saved millions of lives, and all by mistake.

I remember back in middle school I would always be at my grandmas house with my cousins. Everything would be fun and peaceful until my grandpa started drinking. My grandpa was never a drinker, only a smoker, so when he would drink he would get crazy drunk and start yelling at everyone and saying stupid things. We always had my dads oldest brother, my uncle, take him to a rehabilitation center. My grandpa would come back clean and stay that way until he tastes another drink of alcohol, then we go through everything again. At first it seems like he learned from his mistakes, but he proves us wrong in the end.

Alexander Fleming is right when he says “we learn by trial and error.” We do so in everyday life and in school as well. But there is always the exact opposite. Sure you can learn from “trial and error but there is always a chance to learn from success as well.

Cheating
Cheating is a bigger problem than most people make of it. Christine Pelton believes so, as do I but in some ways disagree. Christine experienced cheating through her student while I on the other hand experienced it myself and through others. Christine was right to give her students zeros but the school board was wrong by making her make the test worth less points in order for the students to pass the class.
Christine Pelton was right in giving her cheating student zeros. To plagiarize is to cheat, its just the same as getting your answers from your neighbor in class but instead your getting it from someone else around the world. There is exceptions though, maybe the student have no time to do their own work so they just copy someone else's work off the internet or book to get everything done quicker. But plagiarizing Is still Cheating and the students deserve a zero.
There is not only cheating in academics but in sorts and life as well. For example, cheating on your girlfriend is way worse than cheating in school. Or even taking drugs to make you faster or strong in a sport. If you cheat on your girlfriend its wrong because she trust you and your secretly braking that trust. If you cheat in sports its not fair to the other players because they are working hard while you just take drugs to make you better.
Christine gave her cheating students zeros in their assignments, was she wrong to? No. Although it wasn’t as bad as cheating on your girlfriend or on a sport its still wrong. Cheating is cheating and its never okay to.

“Don’t worry about the title, just write the essay”

Margaret Meade once said this.”Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.” History will show examples of small groups of people who changed the world in a positive and negative way, as will I in this essay.

Tuesday September eleventh, two thousand and one terrorist struck America in its heart. Four planes had been hijacked by terrorist. Two of the four planes crashed into the world trade center while the third crashed into the pentagon killing many people. The leader of the group of terrorist, Mohamad Atta, had led the first plane into the towers. Truly, this small group of terrorist brought negative change to the world and especially America.

Shortly after the three planes had attacked their targets it was reported that a fourth plane had been hijacked, flight 93. The plane had left from New Jersey and was headed towards San Francisco, but near Cleveland the terrorist hijacked the plane and changed route to Washington D.C. The target was either the White House or the Capitol Building. The target had not been reached due to the courageous act of the people on the plane who attacked the terrorist. The plane crash landed in a field in Pennsylvania, nobody survived. They risked their lives to save thousands; they alone brought positive change to the world.

Another example as to when change was brought to the world was when a group of soldiers had sought and killed Osama Bin Laden. Osama’s responsible for the deaths of millions of people and for the U.S. to kill him as an amazing victory. The death can stop millions of other people from dying and can bring positive change but at the same time it can bring negative change because Al-Qaida can seek revenge for what the U.S. did.

Margaret Meade once said this.”Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.” History has showed this and so have I. I, and history as well, showed that weather it’s a small group or a big one, it can change the world with a fierce impact.
